Orlando, FL (July 19, 2026) – A 25-year-old man suffered serious injuries after an SUV and semi tractor-trailer crashed on the northbound entrance ramp to Florida’s Turnpike from SR-408 westbound in Orange County on Friday, July 17.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 3:30 a.m. and involved a 2011 Lincoln MKX and a Volvo semi tractor-trailer. Following the collision, the Lincoln became partially engulfed in flames. The Lincoln driver, a Kissimmee man, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The semi driver, a 37-year-old Tampa man, was not hurt and remained at the scene.
The entrance ramp was closed for about two hours while crews worked to clear the area. The roadway reopened around 5:30 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash. We are thinking of those hurt and hope they recover soon.
