Syracuse, NY (January 24, 2026) – A motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles resulted in injuries at the intersection of Madison St and University Ave on January 23. Emergency crews from Engine Company Ten and rescue units responded to the scene shortly after the collision was reported around 1:00 p.m.
The crash involved a blue Honda Accord and a black Dodge Journey, both of which sustained damage. One individual at the scene complained of neck pain and requested an ambulance for further evaluation. Paramedics arrived shortly after and provided care on-site before preparing the patient for transport.
While the scene initially prompted a multi-unit response, most units were cleared once it was determined that only one person required medical attention. No additional injuries were reported.
The crash temporarily affected traffic flow through the intersection as first responders assessed the scene and ensured safety for other drivers. The vehicles involved were removed from the roadway following the initial response.
