Ham Lake, MN (July 2, 2026) – Four people were injured, including a teen driver who was critically hurt, in a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday afternoon in Ham Lake.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 3:36 p.m. on June 29 at the intersection of Crosstown Boulevard Northeast and Vickers Street Northeast. Investigators said a sedan traveling westbound crossed the center line and collided head-on with an eastbound pickup truck.

Authorities reported that the teen male driving the sedan was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. Two teen passengers riding in the sedan were transported with injuries described as stable. The adult man driving the pickup truck was also taken to a hospital in stable condition.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.

We extend our thoughts to everyone affected and hope those injured make a full recovery.

Why Are Center Line Crossing Crashes Closely Investigated?

Crashes involving a vehicle crossing the center line require investigators to carefully reconstruct the events leading up to the collision. Officers typically examine skid marks, debris, vehicle damage, and the final resting positions of the vehicles to determine how and where the impact occurred.

Investigators may also review roadway conditions, visibility, driver statements, witness accounts, and any available surveillance or dashboard camera footage. Vehicle inspections and electronic data, when available, can provide additional insight into steering, braking, and vehicle movements before the crash.

By analyzing physical evidence alongside medical findings and witness information, investigators work to establish an accurate timeline of the collision. This process helps provide a clearer understanding of the factors that contributed to the crash.
