Why Intersections Are Common Sites for Motorcycle Crashes
Intersections are frequent locations for motorcycle crashes due to the number of movements occurring simultaneously. Vehicles may be turning, crossing, or traveling in opposite directions, increasing the likelihood of conflict.
Motorcycles can be harder to see than larger vehicles, especially in early morning hours or when visibility is limited. This can lead to situations where drivers misjudge distance or fail to notice an approaching rider.
Speed and timing also affect how these crashes occur. When vehicles approach an intersection at different speeds, there may be little time to react if one enters the path of another.
