Jackson County, WV (July 17, 2026) – Three people were killed, and two others were hurt in a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 77 northbound near mile marker 119 in the Goldtown area of Jackson County on Thursday morning, July 16. The collision was reported at approximately 7:30 a.m.
A red Dodge pickup truck crossed the median and struck a black Kia head-on. Two people in the Kia and one person in the pickup were killed in the wreck. The driver of a gray sedan and a tractor-trailer driver were also involved in the collision and sustained minor injuries.
The identities of the three people killed had not been released as of Thursday night. I-77 northbound was shut down for several hours before reopening Thursday afternoon. The accident remains under active investigation.
