Longs, SC (August 10, 2026) – Three people were hospitalized Sunday, August 9, after a single-vehicle collision on Old Highway 31 near the Danny Knight Boating Facility. The vehicle struck a guardrail, and critical injuries were reported.
One occupant became trapped inside and required extrication before medical care could continue. Responders used specialized equipment to remove the patient from the vehicle.
All three people were taken to hospitals for treatment.
All lanes of Old Highway 31 were blocked while crews assisted those involved and cleared the roadway.
Investigators continue reviewing the accident. We hope everyone injured receives care and makes a full recovery.
