Las Vegas, NV (June 9, 2026) – Three people were injured in a two-vehicle rollover crash Monday afternoon, June 8, on southbound Interstate 11/U.S. 95 in the southeast Las Vegas Valley.
The collision occurred at approximately 12:53 p.m. just north of Russell Road. The Nevada State Police and Highway Patrol said that a Mercedes-Benz SUV and a Kia sedan were involved in the wreck.
Following the collision, the Mercedes overturned and came to rest on its roof. The driver of the SUV and two occupants of the Kia were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The extent of the injuries was not immediately released. No additional information regarding the people involved was made available.
The crash caused significant traffic delays because the center and right lanes of southbound I-11 were closed during the emergency response. Traffic was reduced to a single lane, causing backups extending toward the Boulder Highway exit.
Investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the rollover collision.
We are thinking of those injured and wish them a smooth recovery.
Why Rollover Crashes Can Result in Serious Injuries
Rollover crashes are among the more severe types of roadway collisions because occupants may experience multiple impacts as a vehicle overturns. The risk of injury can increase depending on vehicle speed, point of contact, and whether the vehicle strikes additional objects during the rollover sequence.
Sport utility vehicles and other higher-profile vehicles generally have a higher center of gravity than passenger cars, which can make them more susceptible to overturning under certain conditions. Sudden steering maneuvers, side impacts, and roadway departures are common factors associated with rollover crashes.
Investigators examining these collisions often review vehicle damage, roadway evidence, and traffic conditions to understand how the rollover began. These findings can help establish the sequence of events and identify factors that contributed to the crash.
