What Happens When Multiple Vehicles Are Involved in One Crash?
Multi-vehicle crashes can create several points of danger because vehicles may collide in quick succession. The size and weight of commercial trucks can also increase the force involved when they strike passenger vehicles or other large vehicles.
Overturned trucks may block multiple lanes and create additional hazards for passing traffic. Drivers approaching a blocked roadway should slow down, follow posted directions, and avoid entering closed lanes.
Seat belts remain one of the most effective ways to reduce serious injury during a collision. Maintaining a safe following distance can also give drivers more time to react when traffic suddenly stops.
