Kirksville, MO (August 15, 2026) – Three people were injured on Thursday afternoon when a minivan and pickup collided at the intersection of Hwy 63 and Illinois St. The collision happened shortly after 1:15 p.m. near the NEMO Fairgrounds.
The police said an eastbound minivan driven by 18-year-old Jordan Gaugh of Greentop pulled from Illinois St into the path of a southbound pickup. The pickup, driven by 75-year-old Clifford Corbett of Kirksville, struck the minivan on its side.
Gaugh, Corbett, and Gaugh’s 16-year-old sister all suffered moderate injuries and were taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center. The highway was reduced to one lane for about an hour while crews removed the damaged vehicles.
Gaugh received a citation for failing to yield to oncoming traffic at a stop intersection. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under review.
