Brookfield, IL (July 10, 2026) – Three emergency personnel were treated after a house fire on Wednesday afternoon in the 3200 block of Madison Ave in Brookfield. No one was inside the home when emergency units arrived.
The occupants were downstairs when they heard an upstairs fire alarm and called 911 before leaving the residence, according to village interim fire chief Matt Dubik. Heavy smoke was seen coming from the roof of the home.
Three emergency personnel received medical treatment, and one was taken to a hospital. The person’s status was not available as of Thursday morning. The cause of the fire remains under review as additional details become available.
