Why Are Investigations of Impairment Crashes So Important?
Crashes involving suspected impairment require detailed investigations to determine the circumstances leading up to the collision. Investigators typically review witness statements, physical evidence from the scene, vehicle damage, and results from any impairment-related testing conducted during the investigation.
Even crashes resulting in minor injuries can have serious consequences for those involved and may lead to criminal charges when authorities believe alcohol or drugs contributed to the incident.
Law enforcement agencies continue to emphasize the importance of sober driving and roadway awareness as key measures for reducing preventable crashes and improving public safety.
