Wittman, MD (August 30, 2026) – Three people were seriously injured on Friday afternoon, August 28, in an apparent head-on crash in the 8000 block of Tilghman Island Road in Wittman. Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 12:30 p.m.
According to an initial report from Shore News Beacon, two people were trapped in the vehicles and were described as critical. Firefighters extricated both patients by approximately 12:51 p.m.
Maryland State Police aviation units transported the two critical patients to Shock Trauma. A third patient was also reported to have potentially serious injuries and was initially approved for air transport before plans changed to ground transportation.
Tilghman and St. Michaels fire crews, medics, and Maryland State Police aviation personnel responded. Traffic was redirected through the area, with one-lane operations expected during the response. The collision remains under review.
