Medical Emergencies Can Contribute to Serious Crashes
Medical events behind the wheel can cause drivers to lose control and unexpectedly enter opposing lanes of traffic. Head-on collisions are among the most severe types of roadway crashes and result in significant injuries due to the combined force of impact.
Investigators examining these incidents typically review medical factors, vehicle movements, witness statements, and roadway evidence to determine the circumstances leading up to the collision.
Drivers experiencing medical conditions that may impair their ability to operate a vehicle safely are encouraged to seek medical guidance and take appropriate precautions before driving.
