Parker County, TX (August 18, 2026) – Three people were killed in a house fire on Monday, August 17, on Lake Country Drive in Parker County.

How Fire Investigators Determine the Cause of a House Fire?

After a fatal structure fire, investigators typically examine the scene to determine where and how the fire started. Fire damage patterns, electrical systems, appliances, and other potential sources of ignition may be reviewed as part of the investigation.

Investigators may also collect physical evidence and speak with witnesses or first responders who were at the scene. In fatal fires, the circumstances surrounding the victims’ deaths may be examined as part of the overall investigation.

The Parker County Fire Marshal’s Office will continue reviewing the evidence to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Additional information may be released as the investigation progresses.
