Raleigh, NC (June 29, 2026) – Three people were injured after a two-car crash late on Saturday morning, June 27, in Raleigh. The accident happened around 10:50 a.m. in the 1800 block of South Saunders Street, just north of Interstate 40 near the Red Roof Inn.
The collision left a red SUV with heavy front-end damage and overturned a Honda, which came to rest upside down after breaking apart in the roadway. Emergency units responded to the scene and transported three injured people to a nearby hospital. Officials said the victims suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
The crash forced the closure of southbound South Saunders Street, which is also U.S. 401, near Penmarc Drive and Hubert Street, while crews worked at the scene and cleared the damaged vehicles. Our thoughts are with those affected as they continue to recover.
