Stockton, CA (August 29, 2026) – A three-vehicle crash involving an overturned big rig caused minor injuries and closed Highway 88 near Stockton on Thursday afternoon, August 27.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened on Highway 88 between Fairchild Road and Ashley Lane. One of the vehicles involved was a big rig that overturned during the crash.
CHP reported minor injuries, but the available information did not specify how many people were hurt or whether anyone was taken to a hospital.
Highway 88 was closed in both directions while crews worked to clear the scene. Caltrans said there was no immediate estimate for when the roadway would reopen, and drivers were advised to use alternate routes. The collision is still under investigation.
