Baxter, MN (June 26, 2026) – Three vehicles were involved in a collision on Wednesday, June 24, at the intersection of Hwy 371 and Highland Scenic Rd in Baxter. The crash happened at approximately 10:56 a.m., according to incident information.
Authorities said a Pontiac Vibe was traveling westbound on Highland Scenic Rd and attempted a left turn onto southbound Hwy 371 when it collided with an eastbound Volkswagen GTI. After the initial impact, the Volkswagen struck a Chevrolet truck that was stopped at a red light on northbound Hwy 371.
The driver of the Pontiac, a 68-year-old woman from Baxter, was taken to Essentia Health Brainerd with non-life-threatening injuries. The Volkswagen driver, a 44-year-old man from Baxter, reported no injuries. The Chevrolet driver, a 60-year-old man from St. Paul, was also not injured.
Road conditions were reported as dry at the time of the crash. Multiple agencies responded, including the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, North Ambulance, Brainerd Fire, and West Brainerd Towing.
The crash remains documented as an injury incident, and authorities have indicated the information is believed to be complete.
