Franklin County, MO (August 9, 2026) – Three women were reportedly injured in a two-vehicle crash on Friday morning, August 7, on Route A north of Country Club Drive. The collision occurred at about 11:09 a.m.

A 31-year-old man was driving a 2003 GMC Sierra northbound when he attempted to stop for a vehicle slowing ahead. He swerved left to avoid the vehicle and crossed the center of the roadway. The front right side of the Sierra then struck the front of a southbound 2021 Ford Explorer.

A 49-year-old woman driving the Explorer suffered minor injuries. Two other women, ages 46 and 51, were also injured in the Explorer. All three were taken by Washington Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Washington for treatment.

We are keeping the injured women in our thoughts.

What Can Happen When a Vehicle Crosses the Center Line?

A vehicle crossing the center line can create a serious risk for traffic traveling in the opposite direction. Drivers may have only a short time to react when another vehicle enters their lane. Swerving can also change a vehicle’s path quickly and may lead to a direct collision.

Crash reports may document vehicle directions, impact points, roadway positions, and braking or steering actions. Damage to the vehicles can help show where contact occurred. Medical evaluations also provide information about the severity of injuries suffered by people involved in the collision.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
2Before speaking with an insurance company, make sure you have the facts. An official police report is the most reliable record of what happened and can help establish liability An experienced attorney can assist you in obtaining this report and using it to protect your interests.
3Consider having your case reviewed by a qualified attorney who can guide you through the next steps. They will safeguard your rights and pursue the compensation you deserve.
