Tigard, OR (January 26, 2026) – A serious two-vehicle collision on Highway 217 left four people hospitalized after one of the vehicles caught fire, according to officials. The crash occurred on January 24 at approximately 5:45 p.m. near the junction with Highway 99.
Emergency units from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, Tigard Police Department, and the Oregon Department of Transportation all responded to the scene. Upon arrival, crews discovered two vehicles involved in a crash along the southbound lanes, one of which had erupted into flames.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze while rescue teams worked to extricate individuals from the damaged vehicles. After on-site medical evaluations, four people were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment. The exact nature and severity of their injuries have not been released.
The impact of the crash led to full closures in both southbound and northbound lanes of Highway 217 for several hours. Authorities confirmed that all lanes were reopened shortly after 8 p.m. once the scene was cleared and made safe for traffic.
