What Is Involved in Hit-and-Run Crash Investigations?
Hit-and-run cases often begin with gathering evidence from the scene. Investigators may review vehicle debris, road markings, and nearby surveillance footage to identify the vehicle involved.
Witness statements can also play a key role. People who were in the area at the time may provide details about the vehicle’s direction, speed, or appearance, helping to narrow down leads.
Once a suspect is identified, additional steps may include examining the vehicle for damage and reviewing timelines. These efforts help build a clearer picture of how the incident occurred and who was responsible.
