Head-On Collisions Mostly Result in Severe or Fatal Injuries
Head-on crashes are among the most dangerous types of motor vehicle collisions due to the combined force of two vehicles traveling in opposite directions. Even at moderate speeds, the impact forces can be substantial, increasing the likelihood of serious injury or fatal outcomes.
In rural highway settings such as Highway 95, investigators typically evaluate factors including lane positioning, potential impairment, distraction, weather conditions, and roadway design. Determining whether one vehicle crossed the centerline is often a key focus in head-on crash investigations.
When occupants become trapped inside their vehicles, extrication can delay immediate transport and medical intervention, further underscoring the severity of the impact. Law enforcement officials will continue examining evidence from the scene to establish what contributed to the collision.
