How Tractor-Trailer Crashes Are Reviewed
Crashes involving tractor-trailers are reviewed by examining vehicle movements, roadway conditions, and evidence from the scene. Investigators may analyze vehicle damage, lane positions, traffic patterns, and other details to understand how the collision occurred.
Because commercial trucks are larger and heavier than many passenger vehicles, these crashes may require careful review of the impact area and surrounding roadway. Information gathered after the crash can help establish the sequence of events and provide a clearer picture of what happened.
