Tracy, CA (February 22, 2026) – A late-night collision involving a motorcycle and a semi-truck caused lane blockages on the southbound Interstate 5 connector to westbound Interstate 205. The crash was first reported around 11:01 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, along the transition ramp.
According to incident reports, a white FedEx semi-truck with a trailer was involved in a collision with a motorcycle in the middle lanes. The motorcycle rider was reported down on the right-hand side of the roadway but appeared to be conscious. Several vehicles pulled over following the crash.
All lanes were temporarily blocked as emergency units responded. Tow services were requested to remove the motorcycle and assist with clearing the scene. The incident was later updated to reflect minor injuries.
Traffic in the area was affected while crews worked to reopen the connector. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision, and more details will be released as soon as they become available. We are thinking of those injured as they receive medical care.
Why Motorcycle Crashes on Freeway Connectors Can Be Risky
Freeway connectors, such as the ramp from I-5 to I-205, often carry merging and high-speed traffic. Drivers may be changing lanes or adjusting speed, which can increase the chance of collisions.
Motorcycles are smaller and less visible than larger vehicles like semi-trucks. In heavy or fast-moving traffic, riders can be harder to spot, especially at night. When a crash occurs in active lanes, the risk of secondary collisions rises quickly.
Lane blockages on connectors can create sudden slowdowns. Drivers approaching the scene may have limited time to react, making it critical to reduce speed and stay alert when traveling through interchange areas.
