Maplecrest, NY (August 2, 2026) – A child lost their life, and several others were injured following a fatal UTV crash on Friday evening, July 31, in the Maplecrest area of Greene County. Emergency units responded to the area of CR 56 at approximately 7:54 p.m. following reports of the incident.
Investigators said the UTV was being operated on a private gravel driveway shared by several homes when the crash occurred. The vehicle was occupied by four children between the ages of 10 and 14. One child was killed, while the conditions of the other children involved have not been released.
