Roanoke, VA (September 9, 2026) – Two adults died on Monday, September 7, after a two-story home caught fire on Greenbrier Avenue SE in Roanoke.
Emergency units were dispatched at approximately 2:44 a.m. to the 1400 block of Greenbrier Avenue SE. The residence was fully engulfed when crews arrived, and the fire was upgraded to a two-alarm response as additional resources were brought in.
Nearby homes were evacuated while firefighters worked to control the flames. Downed power lines and a partial structural collapse created additional hazards during the operation.
Two people were later found inside the residence. Their identities had not been released as of the available report.
