Houston, TX (August 1, 2026) – A major two-car crash on the Katy Freeway in west Houston prompted the response of a medical helicopter on Thursday afternoon.
The collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Greenhouse Rd. The police said they were notified of the crash shortly after 2 p.m., and traffic was heavily affected as the left lanes were blocked.
A Life Flight helicopter was called to the roadway, indicating at least one person may have required rapid transport. However, officials had not released information about the number of people hurt or the severity of any injuries at the time of publication.
