Memphis, TN (July 14, 2026) – Two people were killed in a head-on crash early on Sunday, July 12, at the intersection of South Third Street and East Belz Boulevard in South Memphis.
According to the police, the collision occurred shortly after 1 a.m. Investigators said one driver was traveling south on South Third Street when the vehicle crossed the continuous center turn lane and entered the middle lane of oncoming traffic. The vehicle continued in the opposing lanes for several seconds before striking a northbound vehicle head-on.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released, and no additional information about the circumstances surrounding the collision was immediately available. Investigators are continuing to examine the factors that led to the fatal crash.
