Marinette Co., WI (August 31, 2026) – Two teenagers were killed and two other passengers were seriously injured Saturday night, August 29, in a single-vehicle crash on County Highway G near Loomis Road in the Town of Lake. The collision was reported at approximately 10:55 p.m.
According to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was traveling south on County Highway G when it failed to negotiate a curve, entered a ditch, and struck a tree.
The 16-year-old driver and a 17-year-old front-seat passenger suffered fatal injuries. Two other passengers were seriously injured, and one of them was ejected from the vehicle. Both injured passengers were taken for medical treatment.
Authorities said the crash remains under investigation and that speed appears to have been a factor. We extend our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the two teenagers who died, and we hope the injured passengers recover fully.
How Speed Can Increase the Severity of Tree Impacts
When a vehicle leaves the roadway and strikes a fixed object such as a tree, much of the impact force is concentrated over a very short distance.
