North Attleboro, MA (August 30, 2026) – Two people were taken to the hospital on Friday afternoon, August 28, after a multi-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 295 near mile marker 3.4 in North Attleboro.
According to the Attleboro Fire Department, two tractor-trailers and an SUV were involved. One of the trucks, which was carrying sand, rolled onto its side and blocked all northbound lanes.
The overturned truck spilled sand across the roadway and was also leaking fluids. Crews worked to contain the spill and prevent it from reaching nearby storm drains.
The truck driver and the woman driving the SUV were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic was diverted onto Route 1 while crews cleared the scene, and all lanes reopened by approximately 6:30 p.m. Investigators continue reviewing the collision.
