What Happens After a Serious Hit-and-Run Crash?
After a hit-and-run crash, investigators work to identify the fleeing driver using available evidence such as witness statements, nearby surveillance cameras, and vehicle damage reports. Even small details, like paint transfer or debris, can help narrow down suspect vehicles.
These investigations can take time, especially when limited information is available at the scene. Officers may also review traffic patterns and intersection signals to determine how the crash occurred. Updates are often released as new leads are developed.
