Greenville, NC (August 12, 2026) – Two people were hurt Monday afternoon after a vehicle struck a roadside mower on NC-43 S near 7227 NC-43 S.
The accident happened around 1:29 p.m., according to Pitt County Emergency Management. The assistant chief of the Black Jack Volunteer Fire Department said the vehicle struck a mower being used by a roadside mowing crew.
The crash was described as a single-vehicle collision involving the roadside crew. Two patients were taken to an emergency department, and minor injuries were reported.
Black Jack Volunteer Fire Department and Eastern Pines Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the location. Two Pitt County EMS ambulances also took part in the emergency response.
