What Should Drivers Do Near a Lane Blockage?
A partially blocked roadway can create additional risks because traffic must move around stopped vehicles and people working nearby. Drivers should reduce speed and watch for changing traffic patterns.
Motorists should avoid sudden lane changes and leave enough space from vehicles ahead. Checking mirrors before moving into another lane can also help prevent a secondary collision.
When one lane is closed, drivers should follow signs and directions directing traffic around the obstruction. Staying alert can provide more time to react to vehicles that slow or stop unexpectedly.
