Clayton County, IA (September 5, 2026) – Two people were hurt on Friday morning after a Jeep Liberty crossed the center line and struck a school bus east of National.
The collision happened around 7:18 a.m. in the 18000 block of King Rd. The bus was carrying four students.
The bus driver suffered a minor injury. The students were checked at the scene and were not hurt. The Jeep driver was taken to Guttenberg Municipal Hospital before being flown to Iowa City for further treatment due to the severity of the injuries.
The circumstances leading to the collision remain under investigation. We hope both injured people make full recoveries.
