Chatham, MA (August 15, 2026) – Two people were injured on Friday morning, August 14, after a small plane crashed at Chatham Airport on Cape Cod. The incident was reported at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Firefighters found the 17-foot Zenith aircraft upright on the runway with significant damage to its underside and propeller. Both occupants had gotten out of the plane on their own and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The two injured people were taken to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment.
Firefighters also used containment pools and absorbent material to collect fuel leaking from the aircraft. The crash remains under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division.
