San Jose, CA (July 6, 2026) – Two vehicles rolled over in a crash on the northbound I-880 near the Brokaw Road area early Monday morning, July 6. The collision was reported at approximately 5:55 a.m. near the Gish on-ramp.
Both vehicles came to rest off the right side of the freeway, with one initially reported as possibly on fire. A 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV and a gray Toyota Yaris were both found overturned with significant damage. Multiple bystanders stopped to assist before emergency units arrived.
One person was found conscious and breathing at the scene. Emergency units responded, and at least one patient was treated. Two to three lanes were blocked during the response, with one lane remaining open. All lanes reopened by approximately 6:33 a.m.
A law enforcement reporter indicated the SUV may have been driving recklessly before the crash. No further details about injuries or the identities of those involved were included in the initial report on the accident. The wreck remains under active investigation.
