What to Know About Side-by-Side Rollover Accidents
Side-by-side vehicles, also known as utility terrain vehicles, can roll over when traveling across uneven ground, making sharp turns, or operating at excessive speeds. Their higher center of gravity can make them more prone to tipping than some other recreational vehicles.
Properly wearing seat belts and using protective equipment can reduce the risk of serious harm during a rollover. Operators should also follow posted speed limits, avoid abrupt steering, and remain aware of changes in terrain.
Passengers should use designated seats and restraints designed for the vehicle. Manufacturers also recommend keeping the number of occupants within the vehicle’s rated capacity.
