The roadway was dry at the time of the collision. Alcohol was not suspected for either driver. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under review.

We hope those injured make a steady recovery.

What Factors Can Affect Injuries at Highway Intersections?

Crashes at highway intersections can cause injuries when vehicles traveling in different directions collide. The severity of harm can depend on vehicle speed, direction of travel, and the point of contact.

Seat belts can help keep occupants properly positioned during a collision. Airbags provide additional protection by helping to reduce some of the forces affecting occupants during a sudden stop.

Dry pavement can provide better traction, but drivers still need to watch traffic signals, signs, lane markings, and vehicles approaching from other directions. Visibility can also affect how quickly drivers recognize another vehicle entering an intersection.

Vehicle damage and other available evidence can help show how the vehicles moved before and during a collision. These details can provide a clearer picture of what occurred at a highway intersection.
