Traverse City, MI (August 18, 2026) – A driver was killed on Sunday night, August 16, in a two-vehicle crash on Center Road near Mapleton Lane in Peninsula Township. The crash happened around 10:20 p.m., according to a report.
Investigators said a 22-year-old Traverse City man was driving a Ford F-250 southbound when the truck crossed the center line. It then struck a Honda CR-V traveling in the opposite direction. The Honda driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not released the victim’s identity.
The 22-year-old driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash, according to the report. The incident remains under review as authorities continue investigating the circumstances.
