Why Head Injuries Are Closely Monitored After Vehicle Crashes
Head injuries following traffic collisions can range from mild concussions to more serious trauma that may not appear immediately after the crash. Medical teams often monitor patients for symptoms such as dizziness, confusion, headaches, or changes in alertness during the hours after a collision.
Investigators examining two-vehicle crashes commonly review vehicle positioning, traffic flow, and roadway conditions to understand how the contact occurred. Even crashes on local roads can produce significant injuries when occupants experience sudden movement inside the vehicle. Passenger injuries may also vary depending on seating position, seat belt use, and the angle of the collision.
