Mora, MN (June 23, 2026) – Two people sustained injuries on Sunday evening in a rear-end collision at the intersection of Hwy 65 and McLean St in Mora.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 5:44 p.m. on June 21. Investigators reported that a 2019 Jeep Cherokee was stopped southbound at the intersection when it was struck from behind by a southbound 2023 Dodge Durango.
Authorities identified the driver of the Jeep as 41-year-old Chelsey Jean Coffee of Hugo. She was not injured in the collision. A passenger in the Jeep, 35-year-old Jessica Coffee of Milaca, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The Dodge Durango was driven by 29-year-old Brandon Lee Thomsen of Mora. He also sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the collision. Detectives reported that airbags deployed in the Durango, while no airbag deployment was reported in the Jeep.
Emergency responders from the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office and Welia Ambulance assisted at the scene. Road conditions were reported to be dry, and alcohol was not suspected as a factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
