Killingly, CT (September 6, 2026) – The Killingly Fire Marshal’s Office and the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit (FEIU) are investigating a mobile home fire that killed two people early on Friday morning after flames destroyed a mobile home at Fall Brook Park.
The fire was reported around 1:10 a.m. on September 4. Rescue teams arrived within minutes and found the mobile home fully engulfed in flames. Responders were told the residence might still be occupied. Firefighters entered the burning home and found two victims inside. Both were removed from the structure and pronounced dead at the scene.
No firefighters were reported injured, and crews brought the fire under control before it spread to nearby mobile homes. The cause and circumstances of the fire remain under investigation.

Mobile homes can contain lightweight materials that allow fire to spread quickly through a structure. Their close spacing in some communities can also create a risk of flames reaching nearby homes if a fire is not contained.
