Both were taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Additional details about their identities have not been released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with those receiving medical care, and we wish them strength in their recovery.
Why Are Second-Floor House Fires Especially Dangerous?
Fires that spread to an upper floor can create additional hazards because smoke and heat naturally rise through a building. This may reduce visibility, limit escape routes, and make it more difficult for occupants to leave safely.
Investigators typically examine where the fire began, how it spread, and whether smoke alarms or other safety features were functioning. Burn patterns, structural damage, and witness statements can help establish the sequence of events. These findings provide a clearer picture of how the fire developed and may help improve fire safety awareness.
