La Platte, NE (August 7, 2026) – Two people were seriously injured on Wednesday, August 5, in a collision on Highway 34 near Harlan Lewis Road. Responders took both patients to a hospital for treatment.
All lanes of Highway 34 were blocked while crews worked along the roadway. Investigators continue to review the available evidence to determine how the crash occurred.

A severe collision may leave damaged vehicles, debris, or injured patients across several lanes. Closing the roadway gives medical teams and towing crews enough room to work without passing traffic nearby.
