Morris, IL (July 31, 2026) – Two 16-year-olds were seriously hurt in a two-vehicle crash on private property in the 1600 block of E. Pine Bluff Rd near Morris on Wednesday evening.
The collision occurred at approximately 7 p.m. on July 29, according to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said a 51-year-old man was driving a lifted Chevrolet Tahoe, described as a monster truck, eastbound on a trail across his property when an ATV entered from another trail after coming over a hill. The driver said he attempted to stop but was unable to avoid the collision.
Deputies found the Tahoe resting on top of the blue Polaris ATV, which had become lodged beneath the passenger side of the vehicle. The two teenagers riding the ATV, a 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, suffered serious injuries. One was taken to Morris Hospital, while the other was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Joliet. The Tahoe driver was not injured. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
