Melrose Twp., MN (August 6, 2026) – Two women were injured on Tuesday, August 4, when a pickup truck and minivan collided at Highway 4 and County Road 186. The accident happened at approximately 5:34 p.m.
A southbound 2004 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2004 Dodge Caravan crossing Highway 4 came together in the intersection. The roadway was dry at the time.
The Silverado driver, 40-year-old Beth Janette Schlangen of Paynesville, received non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency units took her to Melrose Hospital.
The Caravan driver, 53-year-old Tina Marie Haugen of Melrose, was also listed with non-life-threatening injuries but did not require hospital transportation. Authorities continue reviewing the collision.
