What Typically Happens After a Serious Two-Vehicle Highway Collision
After a serious roadway occurrence involving two vehicles, investigators often begin by documenting vehicle positions and any marks left on the pavement. These details can help show how the vehicles moved before contact.
Damage patterns on each vehicle are also reviewed to better understand force direction and points of contact. Fluid leaks and debris distribution may provide additional clues about the sequence of events.
Witness accounts and available video footage can further assist in reconstructing how the situation developed. Medical evaluations are also used to understand the extent of harm to those involved, especially when extrication is required. Roadway conditions and visibility are commonly reviewed as part of the overall analysis.
