According to available reports, the collision was reported at approximately 12:13 p.m. Initial information indicated a green SUV and a white truck were involved. A later update stated that a green Toyota 4Runner had collided with two other vehicles in the slow lane. Emergency units arrived to assist, and one vehicle was later removed from the roadway by a tow truck.
Traffic was affected while crews worked to clear the highway. Reports indicated that the No. 2 and No. 3 lanes were blocked for a period, while the No. 1 lane remained open to passing traffic.
