Why Multi-Vehicle Crashes Often Lead to Serious Injuries
Crashes involving multiple vehicles can create complex and dangerous situations for drivers and passengers. When several vehicles collide in a short space of time, the force of impact can cause cars to spin, overturn, or strike additional vehicles nearby.
Vehicles that roll onto their side or roof can trap occupants inside, making rescue efforts more difficult. Firefighters often need specialized equipment to stabilize the vehicle and safely remove those inside.
Intersections and busy roadways can increase the risk of these crashes because vehicles approach from different directions and at varying speeds. Quick response from emergency crews is often required to treat injuries and secure the area.
