Portland, IN (July 15, 2026) – The driver of a van was killed after colliding with a dump truck on Tuesday morning, July 14, at State Road 1 and CR 400 South in Jay County. The crash happened at approximately 6 a.m.
According to preliminary reports, the van was traveling east on CR 400 South when it failed to yield to a dump truck traveling north on State Road 1. The impact resulted in fatal injuries to the van driver, who was later pronounced dead. Additional details about the victim have not been released.
