Olympia, WA (May 26, 2026) – One person was hurt on Monday evening, May 25, after two vehicles were involved in a collision in Olympia.
The accident was reported at about 8:03 p.m. at Martin Way East and Kasey Keller Drive Northeast. Initial information said one of the vehicles ended up in the bushes.
Both vehicles had airbag deployment after the wreck; one occupant was reported to have a foot injury, though the report did not say whether the person was taken to a hospital. No names, ages, or additional medical details were released. The cause remains under review as more information is confirmed.
We hope the person injured receives the care and support needed during recovery.
Why Airbag Deployment Can Still Lead to Injuries
Airbags are designed to reduce serious harm during vehicle contact, but they can still cause pain or minor trauma. The force of deployment may affect the face, chest, arms, hands, or legs. A foot injury can also happen when a person braces before contact or when the lower part of the vehicle is damaged.
Two-vehicle accidents may require a review of travel direction, speed, traffic controls, and final vehicle positions. When a vehicle leaves the road, investigators may also look at steering movement, road layout, and nearby objects. Medical teams may check for swelling, fractures, bruising, and pain after airbag deployment. Some symptoms could become more noticeable after the first evaluation, especially once adrenaline fades.
